Figuring out who you are and what you want to do with your life is tough. Donna Parisi experiences this firsthand when she has an epiphany about her future…at a funeral of all places. Pursuing a career as a mortician is not what she expected for her life, and it’s not what her family expected either. Donna must contend with her own wavering confidence and the changes this decision brings about in her life.
You can read more about Donna in Putting Makeup on Dead People, a recently published novel by Jen Violi, a Pittsburgh native.
Violi will be coming to the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh-Main to hold a writing workshop and discuss her experiences writing her first young adult novel. At the workshop you’ll have the opportunity to express yourself, discover what inspires you, and find your unique voice.
This event is a great chance to meet an author and explore your own writing. Check it out in the Teen Department at Main on Monday, June 27th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Free refreshments will be provided!
