Yesterday, my Facebook wall exploded with posts like this:
Ever heard something like this at your house? Sure – cleanup is a pain. But part of me says, “go! Be free! Draw on stuff!”
On the opposite end of the spectrum – the end that the little voice in my head would like – there are places like this:
And maybe, just maybe the library is somewhere in-between. Sure, we’d rather you not draw on just any wall (although some librarians are entertained and some scholars inspired when you do).
But we’d really really really like it if you painted on our bookshelves. If you’ve been in Teen – Main lately, you know that our old murals are no longer around. Plain bookshelves just don’t seem right to hold books for the vibrant, amazing folks that visit us in Teen.
Click on the photo above to get the details of how you can be a CLP – Teen mural artist – or for now, know that your mural can be about whatever you want, that you can paint by yourself or with a group, and that you can show us a sketch to reserve your bookshelf on or after January 2, 2013.
Maybe your extra days off this week are a good time to kick-start your creative process. If your muse is a little quiet and you seek inspiration, check out one of the below, or talk to a librarian!
