A third of American women know how to knit, up 51% from ten years ago, according to the Craft Yarn Council of America. But what about the guys? There are currently no statistics on the number of guys knitting, but there are signs that male knitting is becoming increasingly popular.
Some of these new male knitters are snowboarders and outdoor enthusiasts interested in creating their own winter gear. Some enjoy having a girl-dominated hobby as a conversation starter. Some are in it for the fiber art itself.
