This Is a Post

"The easiest time to add insult to injury is when you’re signing somebody’s cast.”

There’s no form of joke I love more than a quirky, weird one-liner. One-liners make such incisive observations that, like a good poem, they can spark your imagination and make you see the world differently.

One of my favorite one-liner comedians is Demetri Martin, whose cutesy off-the-wall humor makes me crack up almost every time.

"I wonder what the most intelligent thing ever said was that started with the word 'dude.' 'Dude, these are isotopes.' 'Dude, we removed your kidney. You're gonna be fine.' 'Dude, I am so stoked to win this Nobel Prize. I just wanna thank Kevin, and Turtle, and all my homies.'"

Demetri Martin also happens to have a small home in the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Main’s Teen Department, after releasing his first book, entitled (appropriately enough), This Is a Book.

This Is a Book contains loads of hilarious freeform humor, whether in the form of a “short story”…

The shepherd fell asleep again. But who could blame him? He had been counting sheep all day.

…or “some drawings”:

Be sure to take a look if you’re in need of some entertainment during the last few days of your winter break!
