Spa Day @ the Library!

If you’re a teen who will be near the West End Library on Wednesday, stop in to get pampered!

There will be he normal Teen Lounge stuff  – Xbox, Wii, Art Corner, and snacks, but you can also make a body scrub from scratch – this sugar-based concoction will make your skin smoother if you’re into that.

You can take home easy skin care recipes to make from stuff you probably have in your own kitchen.

This could be a great Mother’s Day gift, too!

It’s from 4:30-6:30 and is FREE as usual. Check out the event page by clicking here.

Can’t get to the West End on May 1st? Check out these books:

Plastic Flowers for Mother’s Day?

Still looking for the perfect Mother’s Day gift?

Why not flowers for the mother, grandmother, aunt and/or loving guardian in your life? While I love giving my mom flowers, they are expensive and eventually die. Flowers made from duct tape last forever!

I am a visual learner so when I wanted to make duct tape roses I needed to see it happening. This video is one of the easiest to follow.

You will need straws (I prefer pencils) for the stems and two or more rolls of colorful duct tape for the pedals.  I think it is easier to rip a piece of duct tape off a roll rather than use scissors. Be very careful if using an xacto knife and be very patient!

HINT: Stop at your library and ask the teen specialist if they have some duct tape laying around! Look what we made at CLP Hazelwood below!

Before you know it you will be making rainbow flowerswallets, bowties, and maybe even an award winning prom dress. Keep an eye out for craft programs at your local library and unleash your creativity! Mom will be so proud!
